You may have noticed that I was MIA for the past few days. Pardon me 'cause I ran a lot of errands during those times, not to mention that I have to review for my final exams this week.
Anyways, I just want to share to you an interesting conversation I had with my sibs a few days ago.

But what struck me was the question of my little sister:
'Don't you get tired of studying?'
Quite frankly, I was dumbfounded upon hearing that question. I mean, I've been hearing this question even after years in law school, but never in my life have my family asked me that.
Perhaps they may have noticed that it has taken me more than four years to finish my law degree, and that I have read and accumulated more books in those four years than all the books that I have read in grade and high school years combined. And probably, while my two sibs are not yet done with school yet (my lil' bro is about to graduate from college and my lil' sis is in first year high school), I'm pretty sure that once they finish college, they're done with school.
Find out my answer to this school when you read 'Read More.'

At the same time, the feeling of finally going through all your required readings and using them to your advantage in the recitations and exams is totally satisfying. Personally, it's not so much of how many questions you have answered in those tests; rather, it's how much you have understood the law and how you might use it in the future.
And so to answer my lil' sis's question, yes I do get tired of studying. But I don't plan to stop reading, or studying, even after I pass the bar exams. After all, learning is a continuous process, and the same way goes with the legal profession. So long as I am a law student (and eventually a lawyer), I plan to keep on reading and studying while taking care not to abuse my visual capacity (aka my gradual blurring eyesight).
In fact each and every lawyer is required to take up the so-called Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) courses every once in a while to keep themselves updated in the recent developments in law. A few kind of lawyers are exempted from this requirement (ie. law professors who have been teaching for 10 years), but nevertheless it is an imperative for them to be updated in the law.
And I don't plan to stop on the law books -- I still have a long reading list of fiction books that I want to read, not to mention the magazines that I want to subscribe into.
Isn't it obvious that I LOVE reading? *laughs*
