The (Anti-)Solo Traveler Diaries (Visayas Edition): View From The Boat (aka Island Hopping Day)

The whole team woke up pretty early the next day, some of which waking up earlier than the rest to prepare breakfast for everyone. We opt to bring our own food in Bora than to spend on food at tourist prices. Thus the reason for dropping by the grocery store before landing at our lodge during our first day.

Today's breakfast: boiled eggs, blanched kangkong leaves, chicken adobo prepared the day before (and survived the plane ride), bananas, watermelons

Another vanity shot. Those were the days that I was one of those obsessed with them. *sigh*

Today is island hopping day. But since the dock where the island hopping boat is located is a short walk from our lodge (the dock is at Station 1, the lodge is at Station 2), we had picture-taking moments along the way.

Okay, group pic!

Model pic (thank goodness for the sarong!)

Whoops, there goes the thighs again...

Here are the candidates for Miss Boracay 2009... (hek hek!)

The waves feels so good on my feet

My most favorite shot of all the pics during the entire trip. This is why Boracay is such a destination.

And that did not stop even after riding the boat.

Me on the boat

Team Grade Six!

This is 'window viewing shot' number 3

All together now...

So here are some of the islands that we saw on the first part of the tour. I really can't remember the names of these islands.

In the middle of the tour, a boatman riding a kayak approached our boat, offering coconuts for sale. He would open a small hole on the nut for the drinking water. After drinking all the water inside, he would take the nut again, split it in half, and sliced a small piece from the nut. That piece will be used to 'scoop' the soft coconut meat inside.

Enjoying my coco water...

Sarap ba?

Which cam am I looking?

After the coconut treat, some of us went snorkeling.

That includes me!

Enjoying Bora underwaters... That's mom at the frontmost part -- holding on the boat railings

Off we go to the second part of the tour.

Did not know what this was. This turns out to be Shangri-la Boracay.

Uhhh, another mountaintop house?

The controversial resort. As of posting date, it was closed down by the DENR.

A closer shot...

Another seaside house. I want to have something like that someday...

Seems like mom's enjoying the view...

Uhhh, mom, where are you looking? The camera's over there...

After the tour, we all went straight to the lodge to rest. Even if we just sat on the boat the whole morning, the sea breeze is enough for us to be lulled to sleep.
